United Nations Sustainable Development Goals & the City of Athens
The City of Athens sets priorities and invests in actions that will enable Athens to reach the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN and deliver prosperity for all by 2030.Supporting sustainable tourism practices, the city of Athens through the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency has joined the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) as a destination member. With the launch of the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the meetings industry has refocused towards the 2030 achievement of responsible targets. As the meeting industry looks for solutions towards a sustainable future, our potential for our sector to create positive impact also increases. This is Athens-Convention & Visitors Bureau, supports sustainable practices and their members by providing training on the implementation of sustainable event planning processes and thus creating a culture of sustainable decision-making.
